About Owlie
The governance platform we wanted when we ran access ourselves.
Owlie exists because we lived the mid-market access problem and saw the same two failure modes everywhere: rigid enterprise suites that fit nobody, and click-ops tools that broke on day two.
What we're building
A composable identity governance platform.
Six primitives — Resources, Functions, Forms, Hooks, Expressions, Custom Actions — assemble into whatever access shape your business actually has. Intent-based, versioned provisioning. Sync that verifies reality. Evidence captured as the work runs. Built for IT, Security, and Compliance teams at 100–3,000-person companies who've found that fixed governance screens stop fitting the moment a real workflow shows up.
Why now
Mid-market access sprawl is worse than it's ever been.
SaaS per employee has doubled. Compliance frameworks have multiplied. Audits have gotten teeth. The category's response has been to sell the Fortune-500 suite to the mid-market, or to ship a request portal and call it governance. Neither works. The teams running access at 100–3,000-person companies deserve a governance runtime, not a suite.
Who's building it
Built by a small team.
Founder bio — to be provided by founder.
Owlie is built by a small team led by its founder. We're hiring as we grow — if you care about identity, governance, and making access legible, we'd like to hear from you.
Principles
What we hold ourselves to.
Clarity over complexity.
Every primitive, every policy, every error message earns its place by being legible. If you can't explain it to the person running your JML, it doesn't ship.
Evidence-first workflows.
Audit readiness isn't a feature. It's what happens when the engine is built to record its own work.
Usability for every team.
End users and admins both deserve a real UX. No dumping end users into an admin console and calling it done.
Two ways in.
Early access is open for mid-market teams. Or just read the platform page first — we won't chase you.
